Elections

When Pope Callistus II died on 13 December 1124, a majority of the cardinals had reached an agreement to elect Cardinal Sasso of Saint Stephens Church in Rome, but a powerful family in the area known as the Pierleoni family opposed him and just a few days later they had convinced the other Cardinals to elect someone else, one who was in favor with the Pierleoni family.

But it was a very short time after this election before the Frangipanis burst into the papal apartments and wounded the pope which then had to abdicate the throne.

Another agreement was reached and Cardinal Lambert Scannabecchi of Ostia was elected.  The Pierleoni family received a large sum of money and other favors for their support of the election.

A young Congolese woman living in Belgium during World War II helped several American soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge.

A lady who braved severe winter conditions, being continually shot at while she moved from place to place, and faced many other wartime dangers all while trying to protect and heal the wounded.

The subsequent German selling of the city of Bastogne eventually claimed her hospital along with one of her good friends who was also working as a nurse in the same building.

A person that risks their life for people that they do not even know is an excellent role model for all of us to teach to others and to live by; there is no greater human mind act than this.

A human blindfolds another human because the say they have a surprise for them.

The 1st human leads the other human to a flat surface and places their hands on this surface.

With one swipe, the 1st human cuts off the fingers of the other human.

The reasoning for this action is the fact that the other human wishes to continue their education.

Other friends of the 1st human are present at this action and help clean up and throw the fingers away.

The 1st human then takes the other human to the hospital for treatment and then forces the other human to lie about the events.

So, I guess humans could be subject to the same "surprise" if we allow other humans to blindfold us...

A woman was beheaded recently for posting details on a social networking site about a drug cartel.  The people that killed her found out about her true identity.  Her head was placed on a large stone piling nearby.  This action is similar in the Tudor monarchy when they would place th head of an executed person on the tower bridge.

What fascinates me is this....the police and other officials cannot figure out how the drug cartel members found out about her real identity.

An organization creates a special group that functions with the blessings of the parent organization.  A portion of that created special group begins to attack and rob establishments of their parent organization.  So the leader of the parent organization gathers the special group members together and asks them to perform the same acts onto a rival organization so that an important area will be protected.  Then the leader promised these special group members riches and guaranteed them extra areas as their reward.

First Post

This blog will be about events in history that humans have done to each other.  It will entail of all sorts of events and will not be limited to any race of people or group of people; in other words everyone will be included.  But I hope it will allow you to think about what the human mind is capable of doing to its fellow human.  And also remember that if the human mind can think of these things and execute them then it is capable of completing the same acts again or even more hideous events....and most likely will.
